'Each cru is expressing terroir more and more' according to Aubert de Villaine. Romanée-St-Vivant gets better and better.

Dom de la Romanée-Conti Grand Cru 2007 Echézeaux 18 Drink 2014-26

Much darker than most 2007s. Dense and rich and definitely very different from all the rest. Very, very pure and linear and not that fleshy but very, very pure. Fine tannins. Very interesting to see DRC x 07. Works well, so pure! Great freshness.. More seductive at the moment.

Dom de la Romanée-Conti Grand Cru 2007 Grands Echézeaux 17.5 Drink 2014-26

Bright cherry red, if anything paler than the Echézeaux. Something a bit vegetal on the nose. A bit skinny for DRC. Certainly very, very pure but needs a bit more flesh. Very fine. May well gain weight. Bit strict. ??-like! Bracing. Tonic.

Dom de la Romanée-Conti Grand Cru 2007 Romanée-St-Vivant 18 Drink 2015-30

Very deep crimson. Very complex nose. Very intellectual and intriguing. There's a richness about it…Powerful red fruits but much more too. Velvety (red) somehow ?? medieval and some spice. Quite firm and fine on the finish. Great line. Slightly chewy tannins but immense purity. Bright cherry fruit. Damsons. A de Villaine says usually more flesh but low pressure/melting snow not good. More tannin than most.

Dom de la Romanée-Conti Grand Cru 2007 Richebourg 18.5 Drink 2015-30

Bright, brilliant crimson. Hint of nuts savour. Really savoury and racy. Lovely , though far from obvious and simple fruit. Racy. Finely etched yet solid. Very subtle. Sappy! Good hit of ripe fruit on the front palate. Very, very fine tannins. Sinewy, long. Vibrato end.

Dom de la Romanée-Conti Grand Cru 2007 La Tâche 18.5 Drink 2014-30

Violets and very, very concentrated. Slightly reduced but very voluptuous. Something even a bit meaty on the nose. Floral topnote. Very fine line. Less sweet than in many vintages but with lovely aromatics. Not opulent but very clean and pure and very La Tâche. Very, very clean and fresh. Linear, pure.

Dom de la Romanée-Conti Grand Cru 2007 Romanée-Conti 18.5+ Drink 2016-35

Bright crimson. Very majestic. Dense chestnuts. Drier than last. Something very red (Tâche was purple) about it. Majestic in build. Amazingly meaty richness on the palate, vibrato. Lots of freshness, lots of muscles. Zesty, punches the air. Made me think of an Obama-like triumphal punch! (This was tasted not long after his presidential victory.)
