For me the two finest books on wine ever written are the Oxford Companion and Hugh Johnson's Atlas of wine…..now there is a third….just went over approx. 25% of Harry Karis's new book on Chateauneuf-du-Pape,and it is a 500 page tour de force on this beautiful region and its wines…it will be the definitive guide for some time to come. The photos..history,domaine profiles, and finest maps to yet me done on the vineyards, are fascinating as are the detailed discussions about wine-making …this is the book I wished I had written in my wildest dreams…just an amazing effort from a man who has been a chef,a musician,a doctor…and now an accomplished author and authority on CNDP….he is self-publishing it,and because of that, it has been lavishly produced and is as beautiful as it is important and relevant…it can be pre-ordered at cdpwinebook.com…..it will be available in June..Harry's talented son, Phil, added hundreds of exquisite photos and the graphic art for the book….this is one exciting book….congratulations…..an exceptional performance….and I wish them great success…
